My Ode to Olipop
Moving back to rural Arkansas during 2020 after years in NYC, one of my honestly biggest concerns was learning how to keep a healthy lifestyle while so far from organic-minded restaurants. I became a frequent visitor of the produce section at my local Walmart, combing every station and aisle to learn what was available.
A few weeks into this new search, I found Olipops. There were only 2 flavors available. Vintage Cola sounded best so I grabbed 2 to test.... and have been hooked ever sense.
As a graphic designer, I've noticed the change in Olipop's strategy over the years: When it switched wording from "Sparkling Tonic" to their trademark "A New Kind of Soda," I could tell they were carefully planning for a phenomenal future. Their influencer marketing collaborations and discounts if you posted on TikTok were genius to start with. This brand became my case study, learning how to market to Gen Z.
Now, I'd like to give back to the brand that's meant so much to me. In 2 days time, all of these were produced. No AI aside from the program, Adobe Illustrator. Below are a few campaigns I would like to pitch: My Ode to Olipop.

Ridge Rush
Focusing on standard marketing materials, the photo above is set at Facebook Cover photo size while the 2 to the right of this text (or below if you're looking at the mobile) are print-ready campaigns.
The name Ridge Rush, to me, means that fresh, crisp morning breeze during autumn when the first temperature drop happens. It's mountain biking, kayaking, and running through trails rather than merely walking or picnicking.
My friend, Justin, and I spent Saturday morning on a local train in Little Rock, Arkansas taking these shots. The tagline, "Charge your Spark," came to mind when considering the idealized world written about above, but with a focus on setting it towards a more general audience.

Orange Squeeze
For this can, it was best to focus on the action of squeezing an orange. Cutting up 1 orange into multiple slices and leaving another whole, I started with the standard shoot using a pink photo backdrop from my studio. After the base was chosen with its lighting, I photographed each piece individually: shooting the orange at different angles of light to make them each look separate.
The liquid was sourced from another shoot and photoshopped with a transparent background.
Cherry Cola
With partnerships in mind. This quick video from my kitchen resulted in a very tasty coke float. If I had more than 2 days to develop this project, a vintage-styled title text would have been placed on the top with additional animations. However, for the sake of the hiring process, I didn't want to take longer and waste your time.

Tropical Punch
Using my new skill, Procreate animation, I focused on how to reframe Tropical Punch for the economic times we're in. If no one goes on vacation this summer, what will they do instead? Grabbing an outdoor bowling set and my giant Connect 4, I spent Saturday afternoon in the yard photographing all the ways to bring the fun of Tropical Punch to one's backyard.
To add more depth to the video, I cropped it initially at a 4 x 5, but adjusted it in Premiere Pro to a 9 x 16 to give more elements to the piece. "Punching-In Playtime" was thought up while strategizing how to make the Connect 4 look like a stalemate game. People want to "punch-out" of work to enjoy their personal time. Tropical Punch can be the "punch" they're looking for.
More to Come...
Keeping to a 2-day deadline for 6 flavors meant some would be fully creative without a marketing campaign attached... yet.
For Cream Soda, I wanted to give the nostalgia vibes without being too cliche. Working with what I had on hand, I brainstormed a "sweet tooth" styled campaign. Using a sheet pan from my kitchen, I doused it in a spray-can of whip cream and covered that in sprinkles. This shoot was definitely on a time crunch to capture as most normally use shaving cream due to whip cream melting so quickly.
I am in love with their holiday-styled Ginger Ale rebrand. Character creation is something I'm delving in, but another aspect I hadn't showcased yet was your brand's love of mono-toned 3D graphics. I've worked in Maya and Sketch Up, but Adobe Illustrator seemed like the best call for this pitch. Adding a holiday lights sort of glow to your can for the video, this could be developed more to include a full tree of Olipop holiday lights.
It would be an honor to work for Olipop and hone in on these ideas more. Please see the link to my resume above or contact me at hello@abigailfowlerdesigns.com.
